Beach portrait sessions are fun- the weather and other elements can challenge you sometime! That is what made Rakhee and Hiten’s Kure Beach e-session exciting! The weather was nice on our way until we reached Wilmington! It rained really hard for awhile! We discussed other alternatives including an indoor session at the Wrightsville Beach. But, as was the case with one of my earlier beach portrait sessions, we stayed with the plan and were rewarded with a dry session. Of course, the light was ever changing and it got really humid and really hot! And it seemed like the bugs were out enjoying the last few days of summer as well. Rakhee and Hiten were easy to work with and helped me capture and create beautiful images.
I captured a mix of candid and posed images. I also mixed the available and portable lights. It is not always easy to use portable lighting outdoors. Especially on the beach. But, relying solely on the available light can make images flat, so, I believe in working littler harder. We setup our shots under live oaks, on the beach and on the rocks. I also wrote Rakhee and Hiten’s names in the sand- in Gujarati! Of course, my Gujarati is rusty and I only hope to have used the correct spellings!
Rakhee and Hiten’s Indian wedding ceremony, reception and pre-wedding events will take place in just few days! I look forward to working with Prashant Video Production to capture this beautiful event…
