This is the third post of Avni and Gurpawan’s Indian wedding story. Earlier, I had posted Garba and Sikh Ceremony previews. The Gujarati (Hindu) ceremony took place right after the Sikh Ceremony. The Gujarati ceremony was at the beautiful Ballantyne Resort in Charlotte NC. This was an outdoor ceremony. It was hot! This reminded me of the outdoor weddings I attended as a kid in India.

I captured images of the bride getting ready while the baraat was getting together. The bride changed her outfit for this part of the wedding, And the groom was now sporting clean-shaven looks. The second baraat was received and the groom was escorted to the mandap. Avni walked down the aisle shortly after the opening rituals. She looked beautiful! The mandap was open and allowed me to move around and capture different angles and views. The ceremony lasted for couple of hours. I did group session after the ceremony. The lunch was served inside (both the food and air conditioning were welcome!). The vidaai took place after the lunch.

And then it was time for me to get ready for the reception!
